Employee Spotlight: Peter

inspired led employee spotlights

In an age when an increasing number of manufacturing and technical jobs are being outsourced, Inspired LED is proud to be one of the few US based LED companies with our own in-house manufacturing team. While some of our components are indeed produced overseas, almost all of our products are finalized here at our facility in Tempe, Arizona. It is this aspect of our business which allows us to create custom LED products catered specifically to our customer’s needs.

If you’ve ever ordered from Inspired LED, chances are that at some point, your products passed through the hands of Peter, one of our skilled Lighting Technicians. Peter has a wicked soldering speed, a great sense of humor, and a snazzy man-bun which always manages to brighten up our office. Let’s take a look at what Peter enjoys about his working at Inspired LED, and get to know him a little better outside the office!

Peter you have been at Inspired LED for 3 years now, congrats! What is your favorite part about your role here at Inspired LED?

I’d have to say the best part about my job is my co-workers. Since I spend my days manufacturing custom LED lighting components, fulfilling orders, and managing product stock levels, I have the opportunity to work closely with members of many different departments. Even though we all have different tasks, everyone does their best to support each other and to make the workday fun, it’s a very positive environment. I wouldn’t be who or where I am today without everyone here!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would definitely choose the United Kingdom. Both sides of my family come from the UK, and I have always wanted to visit.

When you aren’t at work, what do you like to do for fun?

I have a young son named Olliver, so I spend a lot of time playing games, coloring, and watching Power Rangers. I also enjoy reading and writing in my free time, and almost all of my friends play instruments, so we like to get together to jam.

If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?

If I could pick one super power, it would probably be the ability to fly. I think it would solve a lot of everyday problems without drawing too much attention from super villains or earning me an arch-nemesis.

Peter, you’ve recently grown your hair out, is there an occasion or reason? How long are you planning on letting it grow?

I didn’t have a particular length in mind. Actually my original plan was to try and donate it, but I think it might be time for a trim in the near future. I guess I’ll cut it when I have a few more disciples.
