1) Hi Hazel! Tell us a little about yourself…

Well, I am from a small town in Mexico called Cananea in the state of Sonora, I moved to the United States with my family when I was two. I have an older sister who is twenty-two years old, a younger sister who is ten, and a little brother who is nine. I recently graduated from Tolleson High School, and am currently attending Estrella Mountain Community College.

2) What drew you to come work at Inspired LED?

I was on the dance team at Tolleson High school, and my coach, Heidi Wilkes used to talk about Inspired LED all the time, since her husband Grant Wilkes works here. Inspired LED made several donations to our team, and also hosted a fund raising day for us last year, so I got a nice introduction to the company. After I graduated from high school I needed to start earning money for college, so I decided this would be a great place to work.

3) What is one thing you hope to accomplish in the next five years?

In the next few years I hope to earn my bachelor’s degree in psychology, and to start pursuing my masters, as well. Eventually, I would also like to move a bit closer to work, and at some point transfer to Arizona State University.

4) You always seem to have a smile on your face, even when things get hectic. How do you manage to stay so cheerful and positive!?

I choose to be! Stress and anger take a toll on your body, so I always ask myself, “is my liver really worth this silly situation?” The answer is always no. Growing up, my mom used to say, “Crying and being upset doesn’t help or change anything.” My dad always asked questions; “Can you fix it?” Regardless of the answer (yes or no), his response was always the same “then why are you worried? If you can fix it, fix it! If you can’t, don’t worry.”

5) If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be? What would you eat?

I think I would have to go with Johnny Depp and some Italian food, yummy!
